Wow, more than two months since my last post! It’s also my first day off coaching in five weeks and only my third day off in eight weeks, so hopefully that gives me a wee bit of an excuse. However, although I haven’t posted, it doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing.
Two days ago, I finished an epilogue for Heart of the Dragon, which I submitted to my editors. Alyce continues to work on the cover art and we’re still on target for a fall publication, most likely in October or November. The goal is to have Kindle pre-orders available by middle to late September. Keep a watch here, as this will be the first place it’s announced!
Work continues on Book 3 (tentatively titled “Soul of the Dragon“) with five chapters completed. Publication goal is late 2020 depending on how well the story develops. I’ve spent a great deal of time on plotting and outlining, but the actual writing is a struggle at times.
I’m also working on an entirely separate series: The White Magic. This series has a long history, with its beginnings dating back to 1976! I’m now working with a young artist to help me develop some new concepts. I completed the original Book 1 back in 1980, rewrote it in the late 1980s, then again in the late 1990s, and then finally a third rewrite in the early 2010s, at which point I split it into two books.
My original idea for Blood of the Dragon hit me in 2003 while on a trip to Whistler B.C., but I never focused on it until 2016. Once I did, The White Magic took a back seat. However, that story is too near to my heart to give up on it, so I’ve been revisiting it once again. I’m hoping I can finally release it by 2021.
As for The Misadventures of Sir Roger, I’m hoping to get back to the next episode during August while I’m off from coaching, but that’s another ‘we’ll see.’ Too many plans for my vacation!! LOL!
